  • bhagavat-gītam — sung by the Supreme Lord
Compound. The Lord's speech is itself called gītam — a song. Even casual instructions from Kṛṣṇa are songs to a devotee's ear; this is why śrīmad-bhagavat-gītā bears that name.
  • phulla-mukha-ambujaḥ — his face like a blossoming lotus
Compound nominative. Yudhiṣṭhira's face blooms not from political confidence but from the touch of the Lord's words. Gauḍīya rasa: the body responds to nāma and vāṇī of the Lord.
  • viṣṇu-tejaḥ — the potency of Lord Viṣṇu
Compound. The brothers are fortified by viṣṇu-tejas — not their own. Cf. verse 40 where Kṛṣṇa pours svena tejasā into Bhīma at the climax of Jarāsandha's death. Same principle, two scales.
  • upabṛṁhitān — fortified, augmented
Past participle. The brothers were not merely sent; they were already augmented by Viṣṇu-tejas before leaving — Kṛṣṇa's empowerment is the cause of the conquest, not its reward.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Upon hearing these words sung by the Supreme Lord, King Yudhiṣṭhira became joyful, and his face blossomed like a lotus. Thus he sent forth his brothers, who were empowered with Lord Viṣṇu’s potency, to conquer all directions.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Upon hearing these words sung by the Supreme Lord, King Yudhiṣṭhira became joyful, and his face blossomed like a lotus. Thus he sent forth his brothers, who were empowered with Lord Viṣṇu's potency, to conquer all directions.
Commentary

The elision of tejas and upabrmhitan is poetic license. Otherwise the word can be taken as teja in which case there would be normal elision according to rule.

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

Hearing the words of the Lord, full of all powers (bhagavad), which were like a song because of his affection, which indicated the success of the sacrifice and increased their enthusiasm, Yudhiṣṭhira became joyful and sent his brothers who were filled with power of the Lord who pervades the universe (viṣṇu). In order to conquer the directions, at this time Kṛṣṇa gave them his own powers, or they had these powers of the Lord at all times.

Related verses

When the king lights a lamp from his own flame and hands it out in four directions, the four torches are not four flames — they are one flame moving. The four Pāṇḍava brothers carry viṣṇu-tejas itself outward; Yudhiṣṭhira's lotus face blooms because what is going forth is not his army but Bhagavān's potency.
