Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.58.55
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
-
pāribarham
—
the dowry
Repeated from verse 50 — the gift travels. Gauḍīya: the Bhāgavatam tracks the gift to its destination, reminding us that Nagnajit's giving has continuing reality in Dvārakā's stores.
-
satyayā
—
with Satyā
Instrumental — with Satyā as companion. Her name reappears now in the Dvārakā context, marking her transition. Gauḍīya: she remains the same Satyā; the household has changed.
-
reme
—
enjoyed
From √ram — to delight. Kṛṣṇa enjoys with Satyā in Dvārakā. Gauḍīya: ramaṇa is the verb of Lord Rāma's name and of Bhagavān's enjoyment with His consorts; the same root names the relish that runs through every kṛṣṇa-līlā.
-
devakī - sutaḥ
—
the son of Devakī
Compound — Devakī's son. The Bhāgavatam shifts to His mother-bond at the closing of this marriage-story. Gauḍīya: Kṛṣṇa always remains Devakī-suta even as queens are added; the mother is constitutive.
Holding the all wealth closely (upa—ā--gṛhya) he went with Satyā to Dvārakā. Kṛṣṇa did not personally involve himself in the fight.
Holding the wealth closely (upa—ā--gṛhya), he went with Satyā to Dvārakā. The kings could not prevent him from taking the wealth. The best of the Yadus, he was served by them. He was cared for by Devakī (devakī-sūtaḥ) since he appeared on earth for various pastimes (bhagavān) as the supreme Lord. Or endowed will all powers (bhagavān), he enjoyed.
A new wife in Dvārakā joins a household where Lakṣmī is already settled — and yet the household has the strange wealth that no new arrival ever displaces another. Satyā's entry adds to a rasa that does not subtract.
