Translation
The five hundred disciples of Hiraṇyanābha became known as the northern singers of the Sāma Veda, and the five hundred disciples of Pauṣyaṣji and Āvantya became known as eastern singers. Hiraṇyanābha’s five hundred disciples became northern reciters. Five hundred disciples of Pauṣyaṣji and Āvantya became eastern reciters. They received the thousand branches.
