  • viśrambhitaḥ — made confident
Past participle of vi + √śrambh (to trust). Trust has been established. Gauḍīyas distinguish viśrambha-bhakti (intimate confidence) — here used in a sub-bhakti sense: trust placed in a human agent.
  • phālgunena — by Phālguna (Arjuna)
Instrumental of Phālguna — Arjuna's epithet from the phālgunī star. The agent of trust is named, even though the actual ground of trust will turn out to be elsewhere.
  • pārtha-vīryam — Pārtha's prowess
Compound: pārtha (son of Pṛthā) + vīrya (prowess). The brāhmaṇa goes home thinking of Arjuna's prowess. The chapter will redirect him in verse 62: pauruṣa is kṛṣṇa-anukampita.
  • param-tapa — O scorcher of the foe
Vocative addressed to Parīkṣit. Śuka inserts the address as if to remind the listener that he too is a kṣatriya — the lesson Arjuna learns is meant for kingly hearers.
Thus convinced by Arjuna, O tormentor of enemies, the brāhmaṇa went home, satisfied by having heard Arjuna’s declaration of his prowess.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Thus convinced by Arjuna, O tormentor of enemies, the brāhmaṇa went home, satisfied by having heard Arjuna's declaration of his prowess.
Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

Seeing, experiencing and hearing (niśāmayan) Arjuna’s declaration the brāhmaṇa went home. O conqueror of enemies! It was proper that the brāhmaṇa had faith in the power of Arjuna, your grandfather, as he had described, since he has produced you also with similar qualities.

The brāhmaṇa goes home satisfied — Arjuna's confidence has bought him belief. But satisfaction built on Arjuna's pratijñā alone is provisional; the chapter will move the foundation of his śraddhā from Arjuna's vow to Kṛṣṇa's mercy. For now, the device works: śraddhā has been kindled, even if its object is mislabeled.
