  • tṛṇa-pīṭha — on seats of grass
Compound: tṛṇa (grass) + pīṭha (seat). The simplest possible seat. Gauḍīyas contrast this with Bahulāśva's āsana-agryeṣu — and the verse's quiet point is that Kṛṣṇa is equally pleased with both.
  • bṛṣīṣu — on mats of darbha grass
Locative plural of bṛṣī — a small darbha-grass mat used by brāhmaṇas for sitting during ritual. The vocabulary precisely matches gṛhya-sūtra practice: Śrutadeva does whatever a brāhmaṇa is required to do, with the means he has.
  • sva-āgatena — with words of welcome
Compound: sva (own) + āgata (come). 'Welcome' — etymologically 'well-come.' The Vaiṣṇava welcome-formula is svāgatam — a single word; here used adverbially. Bhakti's first vocabulary is welcoming.
  • sa-bhāryaḥ — together with his wife
Compound: sa (with) + bhāryā (wife, lit. 'one to be supported'). Śrutadeva's wife shares in the foot-washing. Gauḍīyas insist gṛhastha-bhakti is dual — husband and wife as joint sevakas — and read SB 10.86.39 alongside 10.41.40 (Sudāmā-mālākāra and his wife).
After bringing mats of grass and darbha straw and seating his guests upon them, he greeted them with words of welcome. Then he and his wife washed their feet with great pleasure.

To provide even this simple welcome, Śrutadeva had to go next door to his neighbors and borrow extra mats. This insight is provided by Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī.

Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
After bringing mats of grass and darbha straw and seating his guests upon them, he greeted them with words of welcome. Then he and his wife washed their feet with great pleasure.
Commentary

He sat them down on kusa asanas, some from his own house and some brought from neighboring houses, and washed their feet.

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

He offered Kṛṣṇa and sages seats suitable for sannyāsīs, made of new grass and darbha, brought from his house, and personally touching their feet with great devotion had them sit.

Related verses

The brāhmaṇa cannot offer thrones — only kuśa-grass and darbha mats. But the seats are good because the heart is full; Bhagavān reads upacāra-rasa, not upacāra-cost.
