  • vinaṣṭa-nānā-dhīḥ — with all sense of duality destroyed
Compound: vinaṣṭa (destroyed) + nānā (manyness) + dhī (intelligence). The dualistic frame has collapsed — not into Māyāvāda merging, but into recognition that the multiplicity is held within the Person.
  • tūṣṇīm — silently
Adverb: 'silently'. The proper response to receiving the highest truth from Bhagavān is silence, not commentary. Gauḍīyas: when prema rises, words recede — Caitanya Himself often answered the highest questions only by tears.
  • prīta-manāḥ — with a satisfied mind
Compound: prīta (pleased) + manas (mind). The result of receiving Kṛṣṇa's teaching from Kṛṣṇa is not first jñāna but prīti — the same word that runs through all the rasa-treatises.
  • udāhṛtaḥ — having been addressed
Past participle of ud + ā + √hṛ, 'to bring forth, declare to'. Vasudeva is the recipient of declared teaching — the verb specifies that this was not casual conversation but formal upadeśa.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King, hearing these instructions spoken to him by the Supreme Lord, Vasudeva became freed from all ideas of duality. Satisfied at heart, he remained silent.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King, hearing these instructions spoken to him by the Supreme Lord, Vasudeva became freed from all ideas of duality. Satisfied at heart, he remained silent.
Commentary

Having given up his concept of the existence of diverse entities (vinasta nana dhih), thinking "It is true all this universe is one Brahman. So in that way my two sons are also the Supreme, " he attaining such knowledge, and became silent.

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

After hearing instructions of the Lord in order that Vasudeva remain seeing him as his son while hiding his powers as the Lord, Vasudeva forgot his vision of seeing Kṛṣṇa’s powers as instructed by the sages. Being full of prema for Kṛṣṇa (prīta-manāḥ), he remained silent.

Śrīdhara Svāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

Spoken to by the Lord, who was full of mercy, having unlimited amazing powers (bhagavatā), giving up various ideas about the jīva or giving up thinking in terms of friend and enemy since he understood that they were all the Lord’s followers, he became pleased and fell silent, because tears choked his throat, from intense prema, generated by thinking himself fulfilled, with affection for all beings and affection for the Lord as his son. Or he gave up the conception of many varieties of jivas, having affection for them because of affection for the Lord, according to the Lord’s instructions. Thus he was pleased and fell silent. Śukadeva calls out in joy. O king! Or Vasudeva was shining (rājan) because of joy.

Related verses

A man who has been arguing two sides of a question in his head suddenly hears the master's word and the argument stops — not because it is won, but because the questioner has been answered. Vasudeva falls silent: prīta-manāḥ, satisfied at heart.
