Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.82.27
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
-
rāma-kṛṣṇābhyām
—
by Balarāma and Kṛṣṇa
Dual instrumental. The two yoked brothers honour the kings together. Gauḍīya tradition pairs Them as kṛṣṇa-balarāmau — Balarāma's worship is the doorway to Kṛṣṇa-bhakti (cf. CC Ādi 5).
-
kṛṣṇa-parigrahān
—
the personal associates of Kṛṣṇa
Compound: kṛṣṇa + parigrahān (accepted ones, associates). Parigraha — those whom He has personally accepted. In Gauḍīya theology, the Lord's parikara (eternal associates) are honoured equally with Him — bhaktya-yutānāṁ bhaktānām (BG 10.10).
-
praśaśaṁsuḥ
—
they praised
Perfect of pra-√śaṁs — to praise highly. Praśaṁsā of the Lord's devotees is itself a limb of bhakti (cf. SB 11.2.46 — viṣṇu-bhakta-jana-priyaḥ, the bhāgavata loves the Lord's people).
-
samarhaṇāḥ
—
appropriate tokens of honour
Compound: sam (proper) + arhaṇa (worship, honour). The right form of honour — fitting the recipient. Gauḍīya etiquette is exact: each devotee is honoured according to his bhāva-stage, not flattened into generic respect.
After (atha) Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma personally honored them, the kings praised the Vṛṣṇis who had wealth or associates. Parigraha can mean wealth, associates, accepting and root.
After that (atha), they were honored by Kṛṣṇa, who gave them bliss, and Balarāma who gave them enjoyment. Previously they had been honored by the best of the Yādavas like Vasudeva. Now the chief kings were honored by the two Lords since they were the most important persons there. The kings were worshipped with the best item (sam-arhanāḥ) in the best way (samyak) by the supremely excellent Lords. Then completely (ā yuktāḥ) joyful (mudāḥ), they praised the Yadus because they were the servants (parigrahān) of svayam bhagavān, who appeared to display his unlimited powers (kṛṣṇa), because they had the root of all wealth and family in the form of Kṛṣna (kṛṣṇa-parigrahān).
When the king is exalted, his courtiers shine; when Kṛṣṇa is honoured, the Yādavas glow in His reflected light. The kings' praise of the Vṛṣṇis is itself indirect Kṛṣṇa-stuti.
