  • vraja — cow pastures
Vraja in the literal sense — moving cattle-camps. The same word names the Vṛndāvana of Kṛṣṇa's childhood. Even in geographic listing, the word carries a perfume of His original līlā-bhūmi.
  • hariḥ — Lord Hari
Hari — He who takes away (sins, sorrows, the bondage of seers). The traveller-name. Wherever Hari passes, something is taken.
  • vinaśanam — Vinaśana, the district of Kurukṣetra
Literally 'place of destruction' — where the Sarasvatī disappears into the desert. The toponym foreshadows Kurukṣetra's later role as Bhagavad-gītā's stage; geography is theology.
As He traveled through the provinces of Ānarta, Sauvīra, Marudeśa and Vinaśana, Lord Hari crossed rivers and passed mountains, cities, villages, cow pastures and quarries.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
As He traveled through the provinces of Ānarta, Sauvīra, Marudeśa and Vinaśana, Lord Hari crossed rivers and passed mountains, cities, villages, cow pastures and quarries.
Commentary

Krsna, passing through Anarta, Sauvira, Maru and Kuruksetra (vinasanam), crossed mountains, rivers, cities, villages, pastures and quarries.

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

Crossing mountains and rivers, he passed through different provinces and passed through cities, villages, cow pastures and mines. Sauvīra and Pāṣcāla were on the road he took.

Śrīdhara Svāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

The provinces were huge, like the ocean. Thus they had to be crossed as one crosses the ocean (tīrthvā). Or tīrthvā indicates that they crossed rivers. The Lord removed all suffering from the people of those places (hariḥ). He crossed the rivers and mountains of those places.

Kṛṣṇa passing through Ānarta, Sauvīra, Marudeśa and Vinaśana — over rivers, hills, cities, villages, cow-pastures and quarries — is like the same monsoon-cloud crossing every landscape it touches: each region receives whatever it can hold of His passage.
