Important Words
-
prapannāḥ
—
surrendered
Prapanna — the technical term for one who has performed śaraṇāgati. The messenger does not say 'powerful kings'; he says 'surrendered.' Their qualification before Bhagavān is no longer their crown but their prapatti.
-
darśana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ
—
anxiously desiring darśana
Darśana — seeing — is the Vaiṣṇava goal even more than physical release. The kings ask first to see Him; freedom is secondary. Bhakti subordinates mokṣa to darśana.
-
śam vidhīyatām
—
please bestow welfare
Śam — auspiciousness, peace. The imperative is gentle: the kings do not specify what they want; they entrust the form of help to Him. Bhakti is request without dictation.
-
dīnānām
—
of the wretched, of the lowly
Dīna — humbled, destitute. Bhagavān is dīna-bandhu (friend of the wretched) and dīna-nātha. The kings, having become dīna, qualify for the very name that Bhagavān bears toward them.
The messenger continued: This is the message of the kings imprisoned by Jarāsandha, who all hanker for Your audience, having surrendered to Your feet. Please bestow good fortune on these poor souls.

Commentary
After revealing their suffering through their message, the messenger concluded. The kings are suffering greatly and are surrendered to you. Because they are imprisoned in Girivraja, like children, they hanker to see you. Not only should you free them. You should also show yourself to them. Therefore you should bestow good fortune on these suffering kings at this time.

Analogy
The messenger ends his speech the way an arrow lodges in its mark — 'they hanker for Your audience, bestow good fortune.' Like a child holding up a broken toy to a parent, his report is complete the moment Bhagavān has heard it; the rest is His to do.
