Important Words
-
bhagavān
—
the Supreme Lord
Balarāma named in His full theological title. The very title He earned by His handling of this episode — restraint, instruction, protection, and finally peace.
-
sātvata - ṛṣabhaḥ
—
chief of the Yādavas (Sātvatas)
Sātvata = the lineage of devotees of Bhagavān, especially the Yādava branch. Ṛṣabha = the bull, the foremost. Balarāma is the foremost of that lineage, equal to Kṛṣṇa as elder brother.
-
su - hṛdbhiḥ abhinanditaḥ
—
by His well-wishers, bid farewell
Suhṛd — good-hearted ones. The same Kurus who had just insulted Him now bid Him farewell as suhṛds. Reconciliation has happened, however bumpily.
The Supreme Lord, chief of the Yādavas, accepted all these gifts and then departed with His son and daughter-in-law as His well-wishers bid Him farewell.

Translation
The Supreme Lord, chief of the Yādavas, accepted all these gifts and then departed with His son and daughter-in-law as His well-wishers bid Him farewell.

Commentary
Though he was already endowed with all wealth (bhagavān), he accepted all of this since he was excellent towards his devotees (sātvatarṣabhaḥ), having affection for his devotees like Bhīṣma. Or, he was the best of Yadus. He did this to please them. Giving his friends bliss he was permitted to leave (abhinanditaḥ).

The elder brother who came alone returns with son and daughter-in-law — what was almost a war ends as a wedding, the elder's plough sheathed, the kinsmen waving the chariot away.
