Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 9.18.3

పితరి భ్రంశితే స్థానాదిన్ద్రాణ్యా ధర్షణాద్ద్విజై: । ప్రాపితేఽజగరత్వం వై యయాతిరభవన్నృప: ॥ ౩ ॥
pitari bhraṁśite sthānād

Because Nahuṣa, the father of Yayāti, molested Indra’s wife, Śacī, who then complained to Agastya and other brāhmaṇas, these saintly brāhmaṇas cursed Nahuṣa to fall from the heavenly planets and be degraded to the status of a python. Consequently, Yayāti became the king.

Translation
The brāhmaṇas made Nahuṣa fall from the heavenly planets because of offending Indra’s wife, and he became a python. [Note: SB 6.13] Yayāti became the king. Nahuṣa was made to fall from Svarga by sages such as Agastya.
