Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 8.19.11
స తన్నికేతం పరిమృశ్య శూన్య-
మపశ్యమాన: కుపితో ననాద ।
క్ష్మాం ద్యాం దిశ: ఖం వివరాన్సముద్రాన్
విష్ణుం విచిన్వన్ న దదర్శ వీర: ॥ ౧౧ ॥
sa tan-niketaṁ parimṛśya śūnyam
[sa tan-niketam parimrishya shoonyam]
apaśyamānaḥ kupito nanāda
[apashyamaanah kupito nanaada]
kṣmāṁ dyāṁ diśaḥ khaṁ vivarān samudrān

Upon seeing that the residence of Lord Viṣṇu was vacant, Hiraṇyakaśipu began searching for Lord Viṣṇu everywhere. Angry at not seeing Him, Hiraṇyakaśipu screamed loudly and searched the entire universe, including the surface of the earth, the higher planetary systems, all directions and all the caves and oceans. But Hiraṇyakaśipu, the greatest hero, did not see Viṣṇu anywhere.

Translation
Searching for Viṣṇu and finding him absent from his house, Hiraṇyakaśipu became angry and screamed loudly. The hero searched the earth, Svarga, all directions, antarikṣa, the caves and ocean, but did not see Viṣṇu anywhere.
