Important Words
-
nāga-ayuta-bala-anvitaḥ
—
endowed with the strength of ten thousand elephants
Compound: nāga (elephant) + ayuta (ten thousand) + bala (strength) + anvita (endowed). Sanskrit's heroic measure. Aniruddha — etymologically 'unobstructable' — possesses ten thousand elephants' force. The name and the capacity match.
-
mahā-rathaḥ
—
the great chariot-warrior
Compound: mahā + ratha. Pradyumna inherits this rank and his son Aniruddha exceeds it. Gauḍīya pattern: descent of svarūpa-śakti through Vaiṣṇava lineage is not metaphor — it is genealogical.
-
rukmiṇaḥ
—
of Rukmī
Genitive of Rukmī — Rukmiṇī's brother, originally opposed to Kṛṣṇa (he tried to prevent his sister's marriage). His daughter Rukmavatī marries Pradyumna — old enmity dissolved in the next generation. Gauḍīya: bhakti unwinds family feuds.
-
duhitaram
—
the daughter
Accusative of duhitṛ — daughter. Sanskrit's PIE-cognate word (cf. Greek thugatēr, English daughter). The Rukmī-Rukmiṇī-Pradyumna-Aniruddha cross-marriage knits the families that once warred — Bhagavān's līlā reconciles.
The great warrior Pradyumna married Rukmī’s daughter [Rukmavatī], who gave birth to Aniruddha. He was as strong as ten thousand elephants.

Translation
The great warrior Pradyumna married Rukmī's daughter [Rukmavatī], who gave birth to Aniruddha. He was as strong as ten thousand elephants.

Commentary
He was a great warrior because he abducted Rukmavatī in a battle, defeating other kings. Aniruddha was stronger than Pradyumna. They followed pastimes in this world. Actually however they were all īśvara (supremely powerful).

Analogy
Pradyumna marries his uncle Rukmī's daughter; their son Aniruddha possesses the strength of ten thousand elephants. Generation by generation Bhagavān's potency reproduces — bhakti-aiśvarya is heritable in the line He has chosen.
