Important Words
-
loka-bhāvanaḥ
—
the maintainer of the world
Compound: loka (world) + bhāvana (causing-to-be, from √bhū causative). Kṛṣṇa is the one who keeps worlds in being. Gauḍīyas pair loka-bhāvana with bhakta-vatsala — the cosmic sustainer is also the personal lover.
-
kalyāṇam
—
good fortune
From √kal (to drive, to make). 'That which is well-made.' Auspiciousness. Bhagavān's residence is the source of kalyāṇa for the residents — not because they earn it but because His presence is itself kalyāṇa.
-
upāmantritaḥ
—
invited
Past participle of upa + ā + √mantr. The technical term for ritual invitation — āvāhana. Gauḍīyas note: Bhagavān cannot be commanded, He must be invited; the invitation must be sincere; once invited, He stays.
[Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued:] Thus invited by the King, the Supreme Lord, sustainer of the world, consented to stay for some time to bestow good fortune on the men and women of Mithilā.

Translation
[Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued:] Thus invited by the King, the Supreme Lord, sustainer of the world, consented to stay for some time to bestow good fortune on the men and women of Mithilā.
Jīva Gosvāmī
Gauḍīya
Commentary
Requested with insistence (upa—manitritaḥ), he stayed.
Śrīdhara Svāmī
Gauḍīya
Commentary
Requested with skill (upa-mantritaḥ) the Lord stayed there because he was the protector of all jīvas (loka-bhāvanaḥ) and revealer of unlimited qualities like affection for his devotees (bhagavān). He bestowed great happiness or pure bhakti (kalyāṇam) on the men and women of Mithilā, who were generally ignorant, having them give up aspirations for mokṣa.

Analogy
Kṛṣṇa says yes. The lokānāṁ bhāvanaḥ — sustainer of worlds — agrees to be sustained for some days by a king's hospitality. The cosmic ratio flips for bhakti's sake.
