Important Words
-
prapannāya
—
to the surrendered
Past participle of pra + √pad — to fall forward, to surrender. The technical term of śaraṇāgati. Gauḍīyas: prapatti is the gateway-act of bhakti; the moment one is prapanna, Bhagavān is contractually bound to respond (rakṣiṣyatīti viśvāsa).
-
varadau
—
the two givers of benedictions
Compound dual: vara (boon) + da (giver). Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma named by Their function as boon-givers. Sudāmā receives both — the dual-Person who gives in dual. Gauḍīyas: every Vraja-tattva has a dual structure; even the bestowal of varas is dual.
-
praṇatāya
—
who was bowing down
Past participle dative of pra + √nam — bowing forward. Sudāmā receives boons in the posture of bowing. The bhakta's standard physical position when grace arrives — vertical pride does not catch what falls.
-
anugau
—
Their companions
Nominative dual of anuga — follower, attendant. The gopas with Them are also satisfied. Gauḍīyas note: the parikara's satisfaction is included in Kṛṣṇa's satisfaction. Pleasing Bhagavān cannot be done while displeasing His companions.
Beautifully adorned with these garlands, Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma were delighted, and so were Their companions. The two Lords then offered the surrendered Sudāmā, who was bowing down before Them, whatever benedictions he desired.

Translation
Beautifully adorned with these garlands, Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma were delighted, and so were Their companions. The two Lords then offered the surrendered Sudāmā, who was bowing down before Them, whatever benedictions he desired.

Commentary
After giving the garland Sudāmā offered respects on the ground with eight limbs. He was also surrendered, saying “Please save me.” Or Kṛṣṇa offered blessings to his devotee for a long time.

Analogy
Sudāmā bows; Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, pleased, offer him varas — any boon he wants. The chapter has built three vignettes (rajaka, vāyaka, mālā-kāra) precisely to arrive here: hostility met its end, devotion received sārūpya, surrender now receives a blank cheque.
