Important Words
-
kṛṣṇa-bāhunā
—
by Kṛṣṇa's arm
The agent is named: not 'a weapon', not 'a discus' — Kṛṣṇa's own arm. The intimacy of the killing matters. In Vraja Kṛṣṇa kills with the same hand that holds the flute.
-
niruddha
—
obstructed, stopped
Ni-rudh — to block. Prāṇa is sealed inside the demon. Gauḍīyas note: when the Lord obstructs an asura's prāṇa, He is also freeing whatever jīva was trapped behind that demonic role.
-
vyasuḥ
—
lifeless, with vital airs gone
Vi-asu — having one's prāṇas departed. A clinical word for death. The demon's exit is named plainly; no eulogy.
As Lord Kṛṣṇa’s expanding arm completely blocked Keśī’s breathing, his legs kicked convulsively, his body became covered with sweat, and his eyes rolled around. The demon then passed stool and fell on the ground, dead.

Translation
As Lord Kṛṣṇa's expanding arm completely blocked Keśī's breathing, his legs kicked convulsively, his body became covered with sweat, and his eyes rolled around. The demon then passed stool and fell on the ground, dead.
Commentary
Expelling stool (landam), Kesi expired.
Jīva Gosvāmī

Commentary
By Kṛṣṇa’s arm which completely expanded (sam—edhamānena) Keśī’s’ breathing was blocked. He expanded his arm till Keśī’s body burst. By that, the demon died. Nārada says in Hari-vaṁśa: yat tvayā pāṭitaṁ dehaṁ bhujenānata-parvaṇā eśo ‘sya mṛtyur ahnāya vihito viśva-yoniṇā When your arm extending to your knee made his body fall, he quickly died by the creator’s will.

Analogy
Breath cut off, legs kicking, eyes rolling, the demon voids himself and dies — an undignified end for a horse who had terrified the sky. The Bhāgavatam refuses to romanticize Keśī's exit; the asura's grandeur was always a sound effect.
