Important Words
-
mat - hasta
—
from My hand
mat + hasta. The verse twice anchors the hill to His hand. In Gauḍīya theology, kṛṣṇa-hasta is itself the eternal shelter — every dhāma rests on it. The fear of the hill falling is the fear of the hand failing, and Bhagavān's hand has never failed.
-
tat - trāṇam
—
the deliverance from that
tat (that) + trāṇa (rescue). From √trai — to rescue. The same root behind trātā, the Lord's title as savior. Vraja is being told: trāṇa is already done; relax inside it.
-
vihitam
—
has been provided
From vi + √dhā — arranged, settled, prescribed. The arrangement is in the perfect-passive — it is already done. Gauḍīya note: when Kṛṣṇa says 'vihitam,' the future tense of the devotee's worry is canceled.
-
trāsaḥ
—
fear
From √tras — to tremble. The same fear Vraja briefly experienced when Pūtanā, Tṛṇāvarta, Aghāsura attacked — each time canceled by Kṛṣṇa's act. The chapter shows the rule: where Kṛṣṇa accepts protection-vow, trāsa has no jurisdiction.
You should have no fear that this mountain will fall from My hand. And don’t be afraid of the wind and rain, for your deliverance from these afflictions has already been arranged.
Gauḍīya Ācāryas
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
You should have no fear that this mountain will fall from My hand. And don't be afraid of the wind and rain, for your deliverance from these afflictions has already been arranged.
Jīva Gosvāmī
Gauḍīya
Commentary
Do not have fear that I will make the mountain fall from my hand. Nipātanāt is a causative form. Or you should not fear that Indra will make it fall. Worrying about my steadiness, you should not do any actions. The genitive case of vaḥ can indicate the doer. It is not necessary for you to fear the wind and rain since (hi) your (vaḥ) deliverance by lifting the mountain has been done by me. Or, your deliverance has been produced by you (vaḥ), by your worship of Govardhana.

Analogy
Kṛṣṇa promises the hill will not fall. The promise is the actual roof — the rain stops being the question and the word becomes shelter. Wherever His word is, the elements arrange themselves around it.
