Translation
Vasudeva by Upadevā, sister of Devakī, produced ten sons, headed by Rājanya, Kalpa and Varṣa. From Śrīdevā, another wife, came six sons, such as Vasu, Haṁsa and Suvaṁśa.
Personal Guidance
Upadevā bears ten sons headed by Rājanya; Śrīdevā bears Vasu, Haṁsa, Suvaṁśa. The Bhāgavatam continues patiently — Vasudeva's house is full of children whose names are recorded even if their stories are not.
Reflection Questions
- Where in my own house are names being made that may not become 'stories' but still matter to be named?
- How does conscientious naming of small lives form me?
