Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King Parīkṣit, after the most famous and powerful Vasiṣṭha made this decision, he offered prayers to the Supreme Person, Viṣṇu, to transform Ilā into a male.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O King Parīkṣit! After the most famous and powerful Vasiṣṭha made this decision, he offered prayers to the Supreme Person, Viṣṇu, desiring to transform Ilā into a male.
Vasiṣṭha turns to Viṣṇu in prayer, because even a great sage's prowess depends on the Lord's grace. The strongest devotee is the one who asks the loudest.
Reflection Questions
  • Where am I trying to fix things sideways instead of going straight to the Lord in prayer?
  • What specific prayer have I been postponing because I think I should manage on my own?
