This discrepancy in the objective is due to your priest’s deviation from the original purpose. However, by my own prowess I shall give you a good son.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
The discrepancy in the objective is due to your priest's deviation from the original purpose. However, by my own prowess I shall give you a good son.
Rather than scolding, Vasiṣṭha takes responsibility and promises to fix the outcome by his own spiritual power. A mature guide repairs more than blames.
Reflection Questions
  • When others' lapses affect me, do I look for repair or for someone to blame?
  • What 'own prowess' — sādhana, integrity, intercession — can I bring to restore a situation I did not cause?
