Scorpions, large snakes and many other poisonous animals, as well as lions, tigers, boars and great elephants, all began falling upon the demigod soldiers, crushing everything.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Scorpions, large snakes and many other poisonous animals, as well as lions, tigers, boars and huge elephants, all began falling, crushing the enemy soldiers.
Scorpions, snakes, lions, tigers — all came falling. Māyā unleashes everything fearsome at once. The strategy is overwhelm. When demons cannot beat us in skill, they try to crush us in volume.
Reflection Questions
  • Where is my current overwhelm actually a strategy aimed at me, rather than random chance?
  • What single shelter would let me stand even when many threats arrive at once?
