From that mountain fell trees blazing in a forest fire. Chips of stone, with sharp edges like picks, also fell and smashed the heads of the demigod soldiers.

Translation
From that mountain fell trees blazing in a forest fire along with stones with sharp edges like hatchets, which smashed the enemy troops. Burning trees fell along with stones which were sharp like hatchets.
From the illusory mountain fell blazing trees and sharp stone chips. Illusion produces real damage, not just imagined harm. To say 'this is just māyā' does not make the wounds less actual. Discernment matters precisely because illusion bleeds.
Reflection Questions
  • Where do I dismiss an illusion as harmless when it is actually drawing blood?
  • What 'stone chips' from a false story have lodged in me that I have not yet removed?
