  • acyutam — Lord Kṛṣṇa
From a (not) + cyuta (fallen). 'He who never falls.' Among Kṛṣṇa's thousand names, Acyuta is the one that reassures the devotee: He does not slip from His promise. Gauḍīyas savor this name in moments of bhakta-saṅga, as in this verse.
  • muditāḥ — joyful
From √mud (to be glad). The same root as mudā in v. 12. Joy is the keynote when Bhagavān and His devotees meet — no other emotion is the default reception of Bhagavān.
  • arhaṇa-pāṇayaḥ — in their hands, offerings to present to Him
Compound: arhaṇa (offering, from √arh — to be worthy) + pāṇi (hand). Hands-full-of-arhaṇa: the body of the citizen is already a pūjā-vessel. Gauḍīyas read this as the natural posture of every limb when Kṛṣṇa arrives.
Hearing that Lord Acyuta had arrived, O King, the residents of the cities and villages of Videha joyfully came forth to receive Him with offerings in their hands.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Hearing that Lord Acyuta had arrived, O King, the residents of the cities and villages of Videha joyfully came forth to receive Him with offerings in their hands.
Commentary

They went out (abhiyuh) of the city to meet Krsna.

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

On hearing that Kṛṣṇa, full of all beauty and qualities, had arrived, joyful citizens, with hands holding articles of worship such as arghya for him, approached him.

Concepts
Jiva
The villagers of Videha rush joyfully to meet Him. Joy is the proper response to divine arrival; spiritual sobriety is real but joy is the doorway.
Reflection Questions
  • When did joy last rush me toward God rather than dragging me?
  • Where has my devotional life become joyless duty rather than glad reunion?

Mithilā's residents come out as one body — joyful, with offerings in hand. There is no need for an organizing committee when Bhagavān arrives; spontaneous order is the signature of His presence.
