Important Words
sauhṛda-āklinna-cetasaḥ—whose hearts are melting from feelings of friendship
sauhṛda (friendship) + ā + √klid (to be wet, melt) + cetas (heart). Hearts liquefied by affection. Gauḍīyas read āklinna-cetas as the bodily mark of prema — the heart literally giving up its shape.
viraha-kṛcchreṇa—with the pain of separation
viraha (separation) + kṛcchra (pain). The Gauḍīya signature category. Gauḍīyas hold viraha as the highest pitch of prema, exemplified by the gopīs at Kurukṣetra (later in this canto, SB 10.82) and by Caitanya's last twelve years.
bhagavān vyāsaḥ—the Personality of Godhead Vyāsadeva
Bhagavān + Vyāsa. Vyāsa addressed as bhagavān — a śakti-āveśa-avatāra. Gauḍīyas note that Vyāsa is called bhagavān because he is the literary embodiment of Bhagavān's own self-disclosure as scripture.
pariṣvajya—embracing
pari + √svaj (to embrace). The closing-embrace before departure. Gauḍīyas note the physical register: the verse measures dharmic-relation in actual embraces, not in abstract sentiment.
The Yadus were all embraced by their friends, close family members and other relatives, including Dhṛtarāṣṭra and his younger brother, Vidura; Pṛthā and her sons; Bhīṣma; Droṇa; the twins Nakula and Sahadeva; Nārada; and Vedavyāsa, the Personality of Godhead. Their hearts melting with affection, these and the other guests left for their kingdoms, their progress slowed by the pain of separation.

Commentary
Friends, relatives and others embraced the Yādavas. Pained by the separation they departed. Others (Duryodhana etc.) however were indifferent.
Śrīdhara Svāmī
Gauḍīya
Commentary
Vyāsa is called bhagavān because he is an avatāra. Both Nārada and Vyāsa were great gurus and elders. Their hearts melted with affection because they were their friends (bandhūn) and Yadus. Pained by the separation they departed. Others (Duryodhana etc.) however were indifferent.

The Yadus embrace friends and family. Holy sacrifice ends in embrace — devotion is not finished until human warmth has expressed itself. Ritual without affection is incomplete.
Reflection Questions
After my last prayer, did I turn to embrace someone, or stay folded inward?
Whom does my devotion still owe a hug?
Analogy
The Pāṇḍavas, Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Vidura, Nārada, Vyāsa — names that the Bhāgavatam keeps on its lap — embrace the Yadus and depart with hearts melting from sauhṛda. Vasudeva's yajña has succeeded in a register no homa-fire can record: every guest leaves the field carrying separation-pain back to his kingdom. The verse measures success in viraha.
