  • vismitaḥ — astonished
From vi + √smi — wonder-struck. Even the king who set the test is astonished at the answer. Gauḍīya: when Bhagavān answers, the questioner is moved beyond what he asked for. The astonishment is itself part of the gift.
  • vidhi - vat — in the proper Vedic fashion
Compound vidhi (rule) + -vat (suffix: in accordance with). Bhagavān accepts the bride in śāstric form. Gauḍīya: even after a non-Vedic test (bull-subduing), the marriage itself follows vidhi. Rasa overlays vidhi; vidhi remains intact.
  • sadṛśīm — (this) suitable (bride)
From sa (together with) + √dṛś (to see) — like, matching. The Bhāgavatam pronounces her sadṛśī — fit for Bhagavān. Gauḍīya: a wife of Kṛṣṇa is by definition fit; the verse names the fitness explicitly.
Then King Nagnajit, pleased and astonished, presented his daughter to Lord Kṛṣṇa. The Supreme Personality of Godhead accepted this suitable bride in the proper Vedic fashion.

The word sadṛśīm indicates that the lovely princess was a fitting bride for the Lord because she possessed wonderful transcendental qualities that complemented His. As Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī points out, the word vismitaḥ indicates that King Nagnajit was certainly astonished at the many extraordinary events suddenly taking place in his life.

Translation
Then King Nagnajit, pleased and astonished, presented his daughter to Lord Kṛṣṇa. The Supreme Personality of Godhead accepted this suitable bride in the proper Vedic fashion.
Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

The king was astonished because suddenly he had attained such good fortune. The Lord married her (prayagṛhṇāt). The wedding was lavish since he was endowed with all wealth (prabhuḥ).

Śrīdhara Svāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

The king was astonished by this direct experience of Kṛṣṇa’s amazing abilities. Or because he was pleased he smiled (vi-smitaḥ) in a special way. Kṛṣṇa accepted the bride or married her who was equal to himself in form and qualities (sadṛśīm) according to the rules because he was capable of fulfilling the desire of his devotee (prabhuḥ), because he manifested all powers (bhagavān).

Pleased and astonished Nagnajit presents his daughter; the Lord accepts the suitable bride in proper Vedic fashion. Astonishment yields offering, offering yields proper Vedic acceptance.
Reflection Questions
  • Where do astonishment and offering belong together in your life?
  • How does proper procedure honor mutual delight?

When the test is met, the test is forgotten — the daughter is given according to the form she was always meant to be given. The bull-trial dissolves into Vedic ritual at the right moment.
