Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.11.36
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
Vṛndāvana, in three different forms, was attractive to Kṛṣṇa. Vṛndāvana was most beautiful. The phrases following this word describe it. It was more pleasing (uttamā) than Vaikuṇṭha. It was more pleasing than Madhuvana or Mahāvana glorified in the words aho madhupurī dhanyā vaikuṇṭhāc ca garīyasī: Mahāvana is most fortunate, it is greater than Vaikuṇṭha. (Padma Purāṇa) The word mādhava (meaning sweetness) indicates giving pleasure to all people since he is the husband of Lakṣmī and object of love for Lakṣmī, goddess of all wealth and prosperity. Rāma indicates the same. In astonishment and bliss Śukadeva exclaims “O King!”
In Vṛndāvana three attractive places are described. Though the banks and Govardhana are included in Vṛndāvana, they are mentioned separately. Trough other places were also excellent, these places were particularly dear (uttamāḥ) because of their fame and beauty. Or compared to Vaikuṇṭha these places were dear. Therefore the word mādhava (husband of Lakṣmī) is used. O king! Śukadeva addresses Parīkṣit in wonder or bliss. It was equaling pleasing to Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma.
- Spend ten minutes today reading or hearing a description of Vṛndāvana, Govardhana, or the Yamunā, and notice what stirs in the heart.
- Refuse to treat your physical surroundings as neutral — choose one place today (your altar, a tree, a quiet corner) and consciously make it a Vṛndāvana-substitute for sādhana.
- Speak the names Vṛndāvana, Govardhana, and Yamunā aloud during japa today, letting Rāma and Kṛṣṇa's prīti for these dhāmas become the model for your own affection.
