Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Thereafter, Aṁśumān, ordered by the King to search for the horse, followed the same path dug up by his uncles. He saw the horse near a pile of ashes. Aṁśumān was the son of Asamañjasa. He went on the path dug up by his ancestors. He saw the horse near (anti) the ashes.
Aṁśumān, sent to find the same horse, ends up at the same ashes. We often walk paths where our predecessors failed — and the question is whether we are willing to learn from their ashes instead of repeating them.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose ashes am I walking past in my own life, and what is the lesson?
  • Where am I in danger of re-enacting a mistake already documented in my family or community?
