Rohita could understand that his father intended to offer him as the animal for sacrifice. Therefore, just to save himself from death, he equipped himself with bow and arrows and went to the forest.

Translation
Rohita could understand that his father intended to offer him as the animal for sacrifice. Therefore, just to save himself from death, taking bow and arrows, he went to the forest.
Personal Guidance
When Rohita realizes he is the sacrificial animal, he flees to the forest. Children naturally protect themselves when adults' commitments turn dangerous to them — and Hariścandra's delays were as much for his son's sake as for his own.
Reflection Questions
- From whose 'forest' am I learning that my own commitments are creating fear in someone I love?
- Where do my plans need to be reshaped to actually protect those they are supposed to bless?
