Cyavana Muni, by his own prowess, enabled King Śaryāti to perform the soma-yajña. The muni offered a full pot of soma-rasa to the Aśvinī-kumāras, although they were unfit to drink it.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Cyavana, by his own prowess, enabled King Śaryāti to perform the soma-yajña. The sage offered a full pot of soma-rasa to the Aśvinī-kumāras, although they were unfit to drink it. He had Śaryāti (vīram) perform a soma-yajñā.
Cyavana arranges that the Aśvins receive soma in Śaryāti's yajña — a sage repays kindness with elevation. Real gratitude lifts the helper's status, not just thanks them.
Reflection Questions
  • Who has helped me, and how could I structurally elevate them, not just say thanks?
  • What 'soma' do I have access to that I am withholding from those who once carried me?
