the quality of mystic power.
The son of Kṛtavīrya was Arjuna. He [Kārtavīryārjuna] became the emperor of the entire world, consisting of seven islands, and received mystic power from Dattātreya, the incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Thus he obtained the mystic perfections known as aṣṭa-siddhi.

Translation
The son of Kṛtavīrya was Arjuna. He [Kārtavīryārjuna] became the emperor of the entire world, consisting of seven islands, and received power from Dattātreya, the incarnation of the Lord.
If the dynasty of Yadu was cursed by Yayāti, how did Arjuna become the king of the world? He was given powers by Dattātreya.
Personal Guidance
Kārtavīryārjuna receives mystic power and the eight siddhis from Dattātreya, the Lord's incarnation. The greatest of kings still derives his powers from worship of an incarnation — power is borrowed.
Reflection Questions
- From whom — overtly or covertly — am I borrowing the power I exercise?
- How am I treating that source?
