The son of Rucirāśva was Pāra, and the sons of Pāra were Pṛthusena and Nīpa. Nīpa had one hundred sons.

Translation
The son of Rucirāśva was Pāra, and the sons of Pāra were Pṛthusena and Nīpa. Nīpa had one hundred sons.
Nīpa has one hundred sons. Some lines explode in fertility; others taper. The Lord arranges different kinds of generativity in different homes — and our 'normal' is not the only legitimate kind.
Reflection Questions
  • Where am I treating my family's particular fertility pattern as a defect or as a virtue when it is simply what was given?
  • How could I honor both the many-children and few-children patterns in my circle?
