Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Ṛteyu had a son named Rantināva, who had three sons, named Sumati, Dhruva and Apratiratha. Apratiratha had a son named Kaṇva.
From Rantināva come Sumati, Dhruva, and Apratiratha — and Apratiratha has only one son, Kaṇva. Sometimes a single son carries the whole future of a branch; numerical fertility is not the measure of significance.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose single offspring or disciple in my circle may carry more future than their numerical position suggests?
  • Where am I dismissing 'only one' when 'one' is sufficient?
