Raudrāśva had ten sons, named Ṛteyu, Kakṣeyu, Sthaṇḍileyu, Kṛteyuka, Jaleyu, Sannateyu, Dharmeyu, Satyeyu, Vrateyu and Vaneyu. Of these ten sons, Vaneyu was the youngest. As the ten senses, which are products of the universal life, act under the control of life, these ten sons of Raudrāśva acted under Raudrāśva’s full control. All of them were born of the Apsarā named Ghṛtācī.

Translation
Raudrāśva had ten sons, named Ṛteyu, Kakṣeyu, Sthaṇḍileyu, Kṛteyuka, Jaleyu, Sannateyu, Dharmeyu, Satyeyu, Vrateyu and Vaneyu, born of the Apsarā Ghṛtācī. Of these ten sons, Vaneyu was the youngest. As the ten senses of the jīva are controlled by the main life air of the universe, these ten sons of Raudrāśva acted under Raudrāśva's full control.
Raudrāśva had ten sons. Dharma-satya-vrateyavaḥ means Dharmeyu, Satyeyu, Vrateyu. Vaneyu was the youngest. Ghṛtācyām is in the locative but has a genitive meaning. They were like the ten senses of the jīva.
Personal Guidance
Raudrāśva's ten sons act under his control as the ten senses act under life. The family is a small cosmos; sense control of the household and sense control of the body follow the same principle.
Reflection Questions
- Are my ten senses currently 'under control' the way a household ought to be?
- Which sense in my body is currently the unruly youngest sibling that needs attention?
