Translation
Because the tiger's ear had been cut by the edge of the sword, the tiger fled in great fear from that place, while bleeding on the path.
The tiger’s ear was cut by the striking of the tip of his sword.
Personal Guidance
The tiger flees with a cut ear — partial success in the wrong target. Sometimes our effort wounds both the foe and the friend, leaving everyone bleeding.
Reflection Questions
- What victory I claim has actually come with hidden collateral damage?
- Where do I keep counting 'mission accomplished' while ignoring what limped away from the scene?
