Translation
Tṛṇabindu had three sons, named Viśāla, Śūnyabandhu and Dhūmraketu. Among these three, Viśāla created a dynasty and constructed a city called Vaiśālī. Of Tṛṇabindhu (tasya) there were three sons.
Viśāla founds the city of Vaiśālī; his brothers leave less trace. Among many siblings, one often builds what carries the family name through time.
Reflection Questions
  • What am I building that might outlast me, however modestly?
  • Where am I drifting in routine when I could be founding something durable?
