O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, all of these kings were descendants of Kāśi, and they could also be called descendants of Kṣatravṛddha. The son of Rābha was Rabhasa, from Rabhasa came Gambhīra, and from Gambhīra came a son named Akriya.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
All of these kings were descendants of Kāśi, and they could also be called descendants of Kṣatravṛddha. The son of Rābha was Rabhasa, from Rabhasa came Gambhīra, and from Gambhīra came a son named Akriya. These kings were all in the dynasty of Kāśi. They are also included in the line of Kṣatravrḍdha.
All these kings are descendants of Kāśi and Kṣatravṛddha. Multiple identities — Kāśya and Kṣatravṛddha simultaneously — coexist in the same line. We should not be surprised when a person rightly answers to several lineages.
Reflection Questions
  • Which of my own multiple lineages have I been treating as exclusive when they are actually overlapping?
  • Where could honoring two heritages at once enrich my self-understanding?
