Translation
Learned scholars accept Paraśurāma as a portion of Vāsudeva, destroyer of the dynasty of Kārtavīrya. [Note: He is a śaktyāveśa form according to Laghu-bhāgavatāmṛta.] Paraśurāma killed all the kṣatriyas on earth twenty-one times.
Personal Guidance
Paraśurāma is the celebrated incarnation of Vāsudeva who annihilates the dynasty of Kārtavīrya. The Lord descends, sometimes as a fierce axe-wielder — divinity has a destructive face when the world is overrun by irresponsibility.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I assuming the Lord only descends in soft forms?
- What in me is overdue for a Paraśurāma-like firm cutting?
