My Lord, in one day You have expanded Yourself for hundreds of miles, covering the water of the river and the ocean. Before this I had never seen or heard of such an aquatic animal.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
In one day you have expanded yourself a hundreds of yojanas in the water. Before this time I had never seen or heard of such a strong fish.
In one day You have expanded for hundreds of miles — I have never seen such an aquatic. The King names the impossibility. Sometimes naming what cannot be ordinary is the start of recognizing what is divine.
Reflection Questions
  • What anomaly in my recent life have I refused to name as anomaly?
  • Where do I tame an extraordinary event by calling it ordinary?
