Giving up the miserly habit of not spending money, one should arrange for the gorgeous worship of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu, who is situated in the heart of every living entity. With great attention, one must prepare an oblation of grains boiled in ghee and milk and must chant the Puruṣa-sūkta mantra. The offerings of food should be of varieties of tastes. In this way, one should worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
Giving up miserly habits, one should perform grand worship of the Lord. With great attention, preparing grains boiled in milk for Viṣṇu, antaryāmī of the jīvas, chanting the Puruṣa-sūkta mantra, one should worship the Lord. One should give food with varieties of tastes for the satisfaction of the Lord.
Personal Guidance
Give up miserliness; arrange gorgeous worship; offer grains in ghee and milk while chanting the Puruṣa-sūkta; vary the tastes. Stinginess at the climax wastes the whole vow. Lavishness here is dharmic.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I quietly miserly in worship while expecting full results?
- What would 'gorgeous' look like in the next worship I undertake?
