Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Thereafter, following the directions of the scripture, with help from brāhmaṇas who know the scriptures, on the thirteenth day of the moon one should bathe Viṣṇu with five substances [milk, yogurt, ghee, sugar and honey]. Pañcakaiḥ means “with pañcāmṛta.”
On the thirteenth day, following śāstra with brāhmaṇas' help, bathe the Lord with milk, yogurt, ghee, sugar, and honey — the five substances. Climactic worship completes the cycle. The high point has its own protocol.
Reflection Questions
  • Do I have a 'thirteenth day' — a culmination moment in my practice cycles — or only an indistinct flow?
  • What 'five substances' would I bring to a climactic act of my own dharma?
