My lord, our old enemy Bali Mahārāja now has new enthusiasm, and he has obtained such astonishing power that we think that perhaps we cannot resist his prowess.

Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
My lord! The effort of our old enemy Bali Mahārāja is stronger. I think that we cannot resist his strength. How did he attain such power?
Imam refers to Bali’s effort or his strength. How did he become (āsīt) so powerful?
Personal Guidance
Bali has new enthusiasm and astonishing power; we may not be able to resist him. Indra's confession is honest. Real assessment, openly stated to the guru, opens the door for real counsel.
Reflection Questions
- Am I honest with my teacher about what I cannot handle — or do I sanitize my report?
- Where would frank confession to a wise person open a door I have kept closed?
