Lord Śiva said: O Goddess, you have now seen the illusory energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the unborn master of everyone. Although I am one of the principal expansions of His Lordship, even I was illusioned by His energy. What then is to be said of others, who are fully dependent on māyā?

Translation
O Goddess! You have now seen the illusory energy of the unborn Supreme Lord, by which I, the Lord’s principal expansion, have been bewildered. What then is to be said of others, who are fully under the control of māyā?
Personal Guidance
You have now seen His illusory energy — even I, one of His principal expansions, was illusioned. What then of those fully dependent on māyā? Śiva uses his own embarrassment as teaching. Public confession from a saint elevates everyone.
Reflection Questions
- When have I used my own embarrassment as teaching for others, instead of hiding it?
- Where am I more concerned with my reputation than with what my mistakes could teach?
