O King, when Lord Brahmā saw the imminent total annihilation of the demons, he sent a message with Nārada, who went before the demigods to make them stop fighting.

Translation
O King! Sent by Brahmā, Nārada, on seeing the destruction of the demons, stopped the devatās from doing so.
Seeing imminent total annihilation of the demons, Brahmā sent Nārada to make the demigods stop. Even the right side, in victory, can go too far. Restraint after success is as crucial as courage in defeat.
Reflection Questions
  • Where has a recent winning of mine continued past the point of usefulness into excess?
  • Whose 'Nārada' role do I trust to call me to stop when the work is done?
