O King, after the Supreme Personality of Godhead had brought to completion the affairs of churning the ocean and feeding the nectar to the demigods, who are His dear devotees, He left the presence of them all and was carried by Garuḍa to His own abode.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O King! After the Supreme Lord had produced nectar and given it to his devotees the devatās, he disappeared on Garuḍa while everyone watched. Yayau means he disappeared.
Having completed His purpose and fed His devotees, the Lord left for His own abode on Garuḍa. He does not linger after His work is done. Visit, finish, depart — divine economy includes departure.
Reflection Questions
  • Do I sense the Lord coming for specific work in my life and leaving when it is done — or do I demand constant presence?
  • When have I felt His absence and not recognized it was simply 'work finished'?
