Translation
Śukadeva said: When all the devatās requested the great Viśvarūpa to be their priest, Viśvarūpa, who was advanced in austerities and was pleased with them, spoke to them with sweet words.
Viśvarūpa, advanced in austerities, was pleased and replied. When a real student delegation arrives, an authentic teacher's response is gladness, not reluctance.
Reflection Questions
  • Do I welcome those who come to learn from me, or treat them as imposition?
  • Whose gladness in being asked has shaped my own willingness to teach?
