My dear King, all the sons of Prajāpati Dakṣa were alike in being very gentle and obedient to the orders of their father. When their father ordered them to beget children, they all went in the western direction.

O King! All the sons of Prajāpati Dakṣa, of similar good character, being ordered by their father to create population, went in the western direction.

Personal Guidance
Gentle and obedient, the Haryaśvas went west when told to beget children. Obedient sons follow the surface of the instruction; they have not yet asked what their father actually intended.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I obeying the letter of an instruction without understanding its spirit?
- What would it look like to inquire into intent before executing the command?
