Having grown weak and thin because of strictly following the principles of the vow, Diti once unfortunately neglected to wash her mouth, hands and feet after eating and went to sleep during the evening twilight.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Having grown thin because of strictly following the vow, Diti, forgetting the rules, once went to sleep after eating, without performing ācamana and without washing her feet, during the twilight. She did not perform ācamana or wash her feet.
Weak from the vow, Diti once neglected to wash mouth, hands, feet after eating, and slept in evening twilight. A single slip after months of discipline opens the door.
Reflection Questions
  • Which discipline of mine has had a 'single slip' recently?
  • What was the cost of that small lapse?
