Dhruva Mahārāja thereafter lived in his father’s palace, which had walls bedecked with highly valuable jewels. His affectionate father took particular care of him, and he dwelled in that house just as the demigods live in their palaces in the higher planetary systems.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Dhruva lived like a devatā in the heavens, pampered constantly by his father in the best of house, covered with valuable jewels.
Dhruva dwelt in his father's jewel-walled palace; his affectionate father took particular care of him. The wound is closed when the formerly cold father gives the now-grown son particular attention; love delayed is sometimes love deepened.
Reflection Questions
  • Where could I give 'particular care' now to someone I once neglected?
  • Whose particular care for me am I still owed an acknowledgement of?
