My dear lord, by your mercy the performer of the sacrifice [King Dakṣa] may get back his life, Bhaga may get back his eyes, Bhṛgu his mustache, and Pūṣā his teeth.
Gauḍīya Ācāryas
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
Dakṣa should get his life back. Bhaga should get his eyes. Bhṛgu’s moustache should grow again. Pūṣā’s teeth should be restored.
Personal Guidance
Brahmā pleads for Dakṣa's life, Bhaga's eyes, Bhṛgu's mustache, Pūṣā's teeth — for each victim, a specific restoration. Real reconciliation is granular; it names each wound and asks for each repair, not a vague 'let's move on.'
Reflection Questions
- Which specific losses caused by my actions can I name and offer to repair, one by one?
- Where am I asking for blanket forgiveness when I owe a list of detailed amends?
