They broke all the pots made for use in the sacrifice, and some of them began to extinguish the sacrificial fire. Some tore down the boundary line of the sacrificial arena, and some passed urine on the arena.

Translation
Others broke the sacrificial vessels. Others extinguished the fire. Others urinated in the pits and others tore up the earthwork around the fire pits. Rurujuḥ means “they destroyed”.
They broke pots, extinguished the sacred fire, urinated on the arena — radical desecration follows offense against the holy. The form of the violation often mirrors the original offense. Notice the symmetry of consequence.
Reflection Questions
  • What symmetry might exist between my past offenses and current desecrations in my life?
  • Where is the mirror of consequence already visible if I'd look?
